Abstract

The Parliamentary democracy is reverenced as the ideal type of government it approves citizens to express their desires and complaints to their elected officials. Various parliamentary procedures like arguments, debates, ruling decisions are the hallmarks of parliamentary government. The opposition party is one of the driving forces of parliamentary democracy. At the beginning of this research article, I analyzed the importance of the opposition party in a parliamentary democracy. Nowadays, India’s parliamentary opposition is not only fragmented but also in embrangle. In these research articles, I will see what has been the role of opposition in Indian parliamentary democracy in different periods. These research articles also attempt to explain the significance the opposition politics at the present scenario in Indian politics.
